A Clinical Analysis of Snake bites


Abstract
The clinical analysis and review of 33 cases who had been admitted with snake bite wound at Kor a University Yeo-Ju Hospital from may 1984 to August 1987.
The results were follow:
1. The ratio between male and female was 1.7:1 and age incidence was the most prevalent in 5th deca, 2. The seasonal distribution was most frequent in august.
3. The site of bite ¢¥of the body was most common in; foot.
4. The time interval from accident to the arrival at E.R. was within 2 hours in 69.9%.
5. The fang mark was below 2 in 60.5% and undetermined in 30.3%.
6. Local wound pain and edema were appeared in all cases and most frequent general symptoms were fever, dizziness and abdominal discomfort.
7. There were moderate increase of W.B.C. in 45.4% in most prevalent.
9. The degree of snake bite revealed 36.3% in grade I, 48.4% in grade II, 9.0% in grade III, 6.0% grade IV.
10. The complication were noted in 6 cases (18.1%). The most common complication was wound infectio in 4 cases and there was no case of death.
